task 1
Task one gave us tricky conditions but at least we got to fly. Since it was an individual time and not a race start, many pilots stayed behind at launch for far too long (nearly half the pack). The view of these pilots waiting for who knows what, was comical to say the least. In an uncommitted fashion resembling a swarm of bees, they stuck together until it was too late to fly the whole course. Some pilots left early and dirted out but those who left in a reasonable time made goal by staying alive in the light conditions. A rain storm is brewing now. I doubt we will fly today. More later. Tom.

nice Tom. The lone wolf strikes again. I guess you know how to deal with all the rain. Are you fueling up on venison, oops I wasnt supposed to give that away as your secret nutritional performance enhancing supplement…SM

Congrats to Tom and Josh for finishing so well in tough conditions, way to kick a**! I was hoping to see the whole team high up in the standings but it sounds like the window of opportunity was too small today. I’ll be following your results, best of luck to all of you.

Hey Tom,
Great work on Task 1. Just try to ease up the extra altitude! 1200 feet AGL at goal? Do that too much and you’re going to need to practice your acro to help get down fast and in style…. You could come to be known as the comp pilots who cranks up big loops and death spirals at goal!
Anyway, lots of SeaTimes readers are following your progress (or so say–they keep emailing me, asking how you are doing, and I point them here). So fly safey but fly far and fly fast ……
